QUESTIONS to Ponder.

What matters most to you? How do you define or measure success in your life?
What is the purpose for what you do every day? What is your vision for the life you want to be remembered for?

These are questions that we should ask ourselves as we make decisions about our lives. Because the choices we make today will reflect the future we have tomorrow.
Moreover, our decisions don’t only affect us, they have a riffle effect on our children and our family. We shouldn’t take it lightly.

Colossians 1:9-12 reminds us that we have access to unlimited resources, knowledge and wisdom through a relationship with God.

Relying on God’s wisdom, we should think deeply and carefully about the choices and decisions we make now if our vision is to build a purposeful, meaningful, joyful and fulfilling life.

We need wisdom to live a worthwhile life that has meaning, purpose, peace, perspective, healthy relationships and happiness.

SUCCESS in Light of Your VALUES.

We dive into the busyness of life and are quickly caught up in a fast-paced culture where everyone around us seems to be climbing the ladder of success or chasing the American dream.

Before we know it, we compromise our values and the things that truly matter to us in our pursuit of success. We get lost in how others define success and become distracted by all the false urgencies that demand our attention but inevitably steals our time, peace and happiness.

Success is not the same for everyone. I’d rather choose what is meaningful, important, relevant, and worthwhile now. Deciding what really matters and makes sense for you and your family requires God’s wisdom.

Proverbs 9:8,10 TLB version says, “He who loves wisdom loves his own best interest and will be a success.” “For the reverence and fear of God are basic to all wisdom. Knowing God results in every other kind of understanding.”

Relying on God’s wisdom to help us define success in ways that align with what we value most, such as prioritizing our relationships and the people who make a difference in our lives, brings us deep joy and happiness. Even if our choices are not the norm.

“Life is not about how much you can pack into your days but about the impact you can make with your days – especially when that impact touches people.” – Valorie Burton, It’s About Time.

It is crucial that we spend time to get clarity about the purpose for why we do what we do because that’s what will determine where we focus our time and energy.

Investing time to get a clearer vision for the life we want to be remembered for is the most rewarding investment we will ever make.

Take a moment to clarify what is most meaningful to you because what matters most to you today should still matter even years or decades from now.

That’s why it’s so important that we choose what brings value, purpose and meaning to our lives now because it’ll be a timeless decision that transcends the moment.

So we must put our stake in the ground and decide what will give us the meaning, purpose, peace, joy and happiness that God wants us to experience in life.

Choosing What MATTERS MOST.

Choosing what matters most and reflects our values takes refection. It takes intention. Its purposeful. It takes planning.

That’s the reason, I chose to make a hard decision of letting go of a full-time career as a physician for a season, in order to focus my time and energy on investing in my family, relationships and the things that bring value to my life.

Such as stealing moments with God that are memorable. Create lasting memories with the ones we love most. And seizing opportunities to capture the truly awe-inspiring moments in life that only come by once.

These may sound simple, but they are truly what matter most. Because after all, how will you be remembered? What will your children and the ones you love remember about your life?

I pray that they remember how intentional you were in choosing what mattered most. The meaningful and memorable moments of life that are the memories they’ll always keep with them.
